This circa 1970s genuine vintage Pierre Cardin grosgrain is a piece of fashion history. Austrian-made, and double-faced, it features a horizontal striped design in turquoise and navy (approx. 1.5cm). An embroidered Cardin logo repeats in between the striped pattern. Midweight, it has a subtle sheen and is completely opaque. It drapes similar to a heavy satin and will hold gentle structure perfectly, making into the perfect dress shirt, trans-seasonal two-piece set, playful skirt and bag.

Italian-French couturier Pierre Cardin is 'the man who dressed the future', having worked for Christian Dior, before starting his own fashion house. With his innovative and futuristic style, he revolutionised fashion with chic ready-to-wear inspired by pop art and colour. Becoming a household name, he designed for the likes of the Beatles and Lady Gaga. Sourced from the workroom of New Zealand's oldest tie manufacturer, Parisian, est. 1919. making in the heart of Auckland for over 100 years, they continue to apply the tradition of craft and quality honed over four generations. Buy a piece of textile history, with this fine collection of archival fabrics.
