Japanese Kimono Silk Chirimen Crepe | Violet Floral

This special silk is an extremely rare find for the fabric collector. Woven in Kyoto in the 1980s (and still on its original core!), this silk reflects a pivotal shift in kimono culture, as kimonos moved from everyday wear to garments reserved primarily for special occasions. Hand-woven on a traditional loom, this fabric features a detailed woven floral design in gold and mauve on a deep purple cloth. 

This has many uses; it could be an art piece, a wall hanging or made into a garment. 

Despite its age, this roll is in wonderful condition, but may have some minor imperfections.

This is sold in one piece; the roll measures 12m in length
