For over a decade, Drapers Fabrics has been bringing a curation of international deadstock fabrics to the creative community–passionate sewers, designers, students and fashion brands alike. Our team carefully selects fabrics from trusted suppliers, saving quality designs from ending up in landfill and giving you the chance to extend the life of a fabric roll.

The deastock industry emerged as a genuine way of keeping excess fabric in circularity, and at Drapers we’re focused on finding the best deadstock fashion fabrics. Nowadays, there are some manufacturers who intentionally blur the line between deadstock and fabric that’s overproduced. To avoid this, we have established strong relationships built on trust with our key suppliers from exceptional places in Italy, France, Japan, and Korea, who have since become an integral part of our Drapers family. Each sourcing trip is truly special as we learn more about their long-standing familial history and the incredible ways the region influences the uniqueness of their fabrics.

All fabrics moving from our hands to yours are available in limited quantities, and once they’re gone, they're gone. That’s the nature of deadstock. We’re lucky to have been in this business long enough to know what our #drapersfamily loves, so you can be sure to find similar fabrics returning to Drapers, but never the same.

DID you know...

Biella is a region in northern Italy that specialises in opulent fabrics, producing for some of the best European designers. The Biella region is essential to mills that have been running in the region for over 150 years, as they use the natural water that runs off the Swiss Alps to wash and finish their fabric. This brings an unmatched quality to their fabrics, specialising in premium wool suitings.

Como, Italy is know as the silk capital of the world. Situated on Lake Como the city has been a hub of silk production since the 11th Century. Today it remains the premier silk-making region and is favoured by luxury fashion houses across the world. We're beyond lucky here at Drapers to have forged relationships with mills that supply to brands like Prada and Chanel.

Lyon in France is home to some of Europe’s leading mills that supply to some of the finest brands in the world. Many of the mills date back to the 19th century, and similar to Biella, are positioned next to a river, which they use to this day, to wash and finish their fabrics. With an eye on sustainability, many are key employers in the region, supporting families for generations.

Hiroshima in Japan is endowed with a long tradition of producing textiles that have maintained a level of craftsmanship dating all the way back to the 17th century. Today, they produce some of the most renowned denim, honouring traditional indigo dyeing techniques and an attention to detail that makes them some of the most authentic artisans of our time.
