With a new arrival to our knit section, our striped Merino jersey Harry, now seems as good a time as any to talk a little bit about why Merino really is the dream fibre for layering, and round up Harry's perfect pattern matches!
Why Merino?
Being 100% natural Merino wool is highly breathable, because wool absorbs large quantities of moisture then moves it away to evaporate into the air.
When worn next to the skin, super fine Merino wool works as a dynamic buffer, helping to stabilise the humidity levels and temperature of the micro-climate between the fabric and the skin. This keeps you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot!
Merino wool is also much finer and softer than regular wool, making it the perfect fabric for close-to-skin garments. The other great thing about Merino jersey, in comparison to cotton or viscose, is its stability and retention of its shape - so it's ideal for garments being washed often, or knit project novices.
So, what to make?
To make your Merino mission even easier, here's our picks for the perfect Harry pattern match. Don't get us wrong, we love the humble turtleneck, but this time we're branching out with a few more contemporary styles.
And for the lads...
