MEET THE TEAM: HOOTIE
Meet the Team; a series dedicated to our incredible staff so you can get to know a little more about those who work behind the scenes (and the counters) to bring you the Drapers you know and love.
This week we spoke with Nick (affectionately known as Hootie), our warehouse manager and dispatch co-ordinator. He's often found restacking rummaged fabric piles or polishing his favourite warehouse companion; the rolling machine.
His strengths include ninja-like order cutting precision during sale periods, water cooler maintenance, and the ability to pick the perfect core for a new fabric roll (if you know you know).
We asked Hootie a few questions about himself, see his responses below;
What's your favourite place and why?
Arrowtown, I have so many fond memories from growing up there; I used to love when it would snow heavily and we would get time off school.
Your favourite fabric in store right now?
My personal favourite would have to be Alfie the neon green cotton jacquard, I made a really cool tote bag out of it a few weeks back.
What do you do when you're not running the warehouse?
I'm usually hanging out with friends and family, heading out on my skateboard, or listening to audio books (admittedly, I'm partial to a good podcast when I'm unpacking fabric shipments too).
Who inspires you the most?
My mother, because she's the coolest person I know.
Your favourite Drapers memory?
Getting Italian silk shipments in! Also our Christmas parties are always such a blast because we have such a great team and all get on so well.
